Last Updated: October 7, 2026

This page explains how Intuit Best Friend Foundation (“the Foundation,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information and sets out the terms for using our website and participating in our charitable and educational activities.

These policies apply to https://intuitbestfriend.com, communications with the Foundation, donations, volunteer and personnel applications, and Foundation-operated public-benefit programs, including Peace-In Practice™ (PIP™).

Part I. Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect information relevant to your interaction with the Foundation. Depending on the activity, this may include:

  • Inquiries and communications: Your name, email address, telephone number, message contents, and information you voluntarily provide.
  • Program applications and participation: Your name, age or date of birth when needed, contact information, preferred language, relevant eligibility information, participation records, educational responses, and feedback.
  • Parent or guardian information: Contact information and the relationship to a participant when authorization or involvement is required.
  • Educational and communication content: Written responses, text converted from voice input, and information shared during educational sessions. Online meeting platforms may process audio, video, captions, and translated text to provide the requested functions.
  • Volunteer and personnel applications: Contact details, qualifications, relevant education and experience, language skills, availability, and application materials.
  • Donations: Donor contact information, donation amount and date, transaction references, receipt information, and any designation or message supplied by the donor.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, access times, pages visited, and security or diagnostic logs generated through website operation.

Please provide only information needed for your inquiry or participation. Do not include Social Security numbers, bank account details, medical records, or other sensitive documents in an initial inquiry.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information as needed to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide requested information.
  • Review program eligibility and applications.
  • Organize and deliver charitable and educational programs.
  • Coordinate appointments, educational sessions, language support, and participant communications.
  • Support participant safety and age-appropriate participation.
  • Process donations, issue receipts, and maintain financial records.
  • Review and manage volunteer and personnel applications.
  • Maintain website functionality, prevent misuse, and protect information.
  • Evaluate and improve the Foundation’s programs.
  • Meet applicable legal, accounting, and reporting obligations.

If we propose a materially different use that requires additional notice or consent, we will provide that notice or obtain consent before proceeding.

3. Eligibility Verification

Some Foundation programs are intended for underserved or disadvantaged individuals and require eligibility verification.

Verification may involve confirmation from a shelter, community organization, or other supporting organization, or limited information about government assistance relevant to the program.

Please contact us before sending supporting documents. We will explain what information is necessary and how to submit it. Where possible, we seek confirmation of eligibility without collecting complete underlying records.

A referring organization should provide personal information only with appropriate authorization or another lawful basis.

4. Free Programs and Donation Information

The Foundation’s free public-benefit PIP™ programs do not require payment of a program subscription or usage fee. We do not collect payment information to charge participants for those free programs.

Voluntary donations are handled separately. Payment processors process the financial information required for a donation under their own privacy policies. The Foundation may receive transaction confirmations, donor details, and limited payment information needed for receipts, reconciliation, or donation inquiries.

Please do not send payment card numbers or bank account credentials by email, text message, or a general inquiry form.

A donation is not required to apply for or receive a free Foundation program and does not give an applicant priority.

5. Online Meetings, Voice Input, Translation, and AI-Assisted Tools

When these functions are used, service providers may process information necessary to deliver online meetings, voice-to-text conversion, translation, or other educational support functions.

Before enabling recording or using identifiable participant content for an additional purpose, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent where required. Participation does not by itself authorize publication of your voice, image, personal story, or educational responses.

If AI-assisted tools are used, their role is to support educational or administrative functions. Human personnel remain responsible for the Foundation’s educational guidance and program decisions. Such tools do not provide a medical diagnosis or treatment.

Additional notices may apply to a particular application or program.

6. When Information May Be Shared

We may disclose information, limited to what is appropriate, to:

  • Authorized Foundation personnel who need it for their responsibilities.
  • Service providers supporting website hosting, communications, online meetings, translation, program administration, or donation processing.
  • A referring or supporting organization when authorized or otherwise lawfully necessary for program coordination.
  • Professional advisers or public authorities when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or threats to safety.

We do not sell or rent participant, applicant, or donor personal information. We do not provide donor lists to other organizations for their independent fundraising or marketing.

Public use of an identifiable participant story, photograph, recording, or testimonial requires separate permission. A request for assistance or participation in a program is not permission for publicity.

7. SMS Text Messages

Intuit Best Friend Foundation may send SMS messages to respond to an inquiry or communicate with individuals who have agreed to receive relevant text messages.

Messages may include requested information, inquiry responses, appointment reminders, and necessary program follow-up. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of donating or receiving free assistance.

  • Message frequency varies.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to opt out.
  • Reply HELP for assistance, or email info@intuitbestfriend.com.
  • After an opt-out request, you may receive a confirmation message.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile telephone numbers or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing, advertising, or lead generation. SMS consent information is used only to administer the messaging service, including through providers necessary to deliver messages, or as required by law.

8. Cookies and Third-Party Features

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies to support functionality, security, and user preferences.

Embedded videos, donation tools, and other third-party features may process technical information or set their own cookies when used. Their privacy policies explain their practices.

You can manage cookies through your browser and any available website controls. Blocking some cookies may affect website features. Where consent is required for optional technologies, we will request it before activating them.

9. Information Retention and Security

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including applicable legal, financial, safeguarding, and recordkeeping requirements.

When information is no longer needed, we will delete it or remove identifying details, subject to legitimate retention requirements and backup limitations.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information involved. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

10. Your Choices and Requests

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.

Depending on applicable law, additional rights may be available. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Some information may need to be retained for legal obligations or other lawful reasons.

Withdrawing information necessary for a particular program may limit our ability to provide that program. You may still contact us to discuss available alternatives.

Send privacy requests to info@intuitbestfriend.com.

11. Young Participants

The Foundation’s PIP™ programs are intended for participants aged 14 and older. They are not intended for children under 14.

For participants below the applicable age of legal adulthood, we require parent or legal guardian authorization where required by law or the program’s participation rules.

If you believe a child under 14 has submitted personal information to us, please contact us so that we can review and appropriately address it.

12. International Processing

The Foundation may communicate with individuals in different countries and use service providers that process information outside the individual’s country of residence.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use the required safeguards. Additional location-specific notices will be provided when necessary.

13. Changes and Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as our activities or information practices change. The revised version will show a new “Last Updated” date. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.

Part II. Terms of Use

1. Scope

These Terms govern use of the Foundation’s website and related charitable and educational resources.

Individual programs may have additional eligibility requirements, participation rules, and consent forms. Those requirements will be provided before participation where applicable.

2. Charitable and Educational Purpose

The Foundation provides public-benefit educational resources and programs that support inner stability, emotional self-reliance, learning, and independent living, particularly for underserved communities.

Peace-In Practice™ (PIP™), related educational activities, and the Nature Perception Performance Inventory (NPPI) are offered within this educational scope.

3. Non-Clinical Services

The Foundation’s educational programs, assessments, and reports are not medical services, psychological diagnoses, psychotherapy, or treatment for mental illness.

Assessment results are intended for educational reflection and program guidance. They should not be used as a substitute for professional evaluation or as the sole basis for medical, employment, legal, or other consequential decisions.

Participation does not establish a doctor–patient or therapist–patient relationship. Do not discontinue prescribed treatment or disregard professional advice because of Foundation materials.

The Foundation’s website and messaging channels are not emergency services.

4. Eligibility and Availability

Free public-benefit programs may require verification of eligibility. Applying, submitting an inquiry, or being referred does not guarantee acceptance.

Availability depends on the program’s criteria, staffing, resources, funding, and capacity. The Foundation will communicate relevant participation requirements and available services.

A donation does not guarantee admission, priority, or any particular program outcome.

5. Participant Responsibilities

Participants and website users are expected to:

  • Provide accurate information relevant to their application or participation.
  • Respect other participants, volunteers, and personnel.
  • Protect the privacy of others.
  • Use Foundation resources lawfully and for their intended purpose.
  • Follow reasonable program and safety instructions.

Do not record, publish, or distribute another participant’s image, voice, personal information, or session content without appropriate permission.

The Foundation may restrict access or discontinue participation when reasonably necessary to address misconduct, safety concerns, misuse, or failure to meet program requirements.

6. Voluntary Participation and Outcomes

Participation is voluntary. You may ask questions, decline to share unnecessary personal information, or stop participating.

Educational experiences and outcomes vary. The Foundation does not guarantee a particular emotional, educational, employment, financial, or personal result.

7. Donations

Donations support the Foundation’s charitable and educational purposes. Any restrictions expressly accepted by the Foundation will govern the use of the relevant gift; otherwise, donations may support programs and reasonable operating expenses.

Donations are voluntary contributions and do not purchase services or guarantee benefits.

If you believe a donation was made in error, duplicated, or unauthorized, contact info@intuitbestfriend.com promptly with the donation date, amount, and transaction reference. Do not include full payment credentials. We will review the request in accordance with applicable law and the relevant payment provider’s procedures.

Where recurring donations are available, donors may cancel future payments through the donation platform or by contacting us. Cancelling future payments does not automatically reverse an earlier donation.

Tax treatment depends on applicable law and the donor’s circumstances. Keep your donation receipt for your records.

8. Foundation Materials and Intellectual Property

Website content, educational materials, assessment tools, reports, logos, and other resources are owned by the Foundation or their respective rights holders.

Unless another license or written permission applies, you may access and use materials made available to you for personal, noncommercial educational purposes.

You may not sell, commercially exploit, falsely attribute, or redistribute restricted program materials or assessment tools without authorization. These terms do not restrict uses permitted by applicable law.

9. Information You Submit

You retain ownership of original content you submit. You authorize the Foundation to process that content only as reasonably necessary to respond to you, administer your application or participation, and provide the relevant services, subject to the Privacy Policy.

Submitting content does not transfer ownership to the Foundation or grant permission to publish your identity, personal story, image, or recording for publicity.

Please submit only content you are entitled to share.

10. Third-Party Services

Our website or programs may link to or use third-party payment services, meeting platforms, embedded media, or other tools.

Those services may have separate terms and privacy policies. The Foundation does not control independently operated websites or services. A link does not by itself constitute an endorsement.

11. Website Availability and Responsibility

We make reasonable efforts to keep website information useful and accurate, but information may contain errors or become outdated. Website access may also be interrupted.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, website materials are provided without guarantees of uninterrupted availability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or limits rights where doing so would be unlawful, including responsibility that cannot legally be excluded for fraud, willful misconduct, or gross negligence.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in Foundation activities or applicable requirements. The revised version will display an updated date. Where additional notice or agreement is required, we will provide it.
