About us

Helping children and families build inner stability and find the strength to move forward.

Who we are

Intuit Best Friend Foundation supports a future in which children and families facing financial hardship can build inner stability, renew their sense of possibility, and find the strength to move toward greater self-reliance.

Our work focuses on underserved children and their families in the United States who face financial hardship and emotional distress. We aim to help them strengthen the inner foundations for learning, making decisions, seeking support, and taking meaningful steps in everyday life.

Our core educational initiative is Peace-In Practice™ (PIP™), a meditation education program we are developing from our founder’s personal interpretation and practice of Prajñāpāramitā through the Heart Sutra. PIP does not require religious belief or participation in religious rituals.
We recognize that financial hardship cannot be resolved through individual determination alone. Inner stability can provide a foundation for making use of education, practical resources, and community support while working toward a more stable future.

Our Beginnings

A personal search for inner stability became a commitment to helping others move forward.

The foundation grew out of our founder’s experience of prolonged fear and isolation, and her search for a way to continue living, learning, and acting through hardship.
Through her own reading and interpretation of the Heart Sutra and her practice of Prajnaparamitta, she found a source of inner stability. In her experience, this practice helped her respond to fear and regain the strength to make decisions and rebuild her life.
That experience inspired the development of Peace-In Practice™ and the foundation’s commitment to children and families facing hardship. We are working to translate this personal foundation into accessible educational materials, with respect for the different experiences and needs of those who may participate.

Our approach

Our Mission

To help children and families facing hardship cultivate inner stability, renew their will to move forward, and build a foundation for greater self-reliance.

Through Peace-In Practice™ meditation education, we aim to connect inner stability with everyday choices and actions. Our work supports the foundations for continued learning, caring for oneself and one’s family, and seeking the resources needed to build a more stable life. We approach this work with respect for each person’s dignity, circumstances, choices, and pace.

Our Vision

A future where children and families facing hardship can protect their dignity, recognize their possibilities, and access the support they need to shape their lives.

We envision communities where financial hardship does not prevent children and caregivers from accessing opportunities to learn and strengthen their well-being. In this future, inner stability, supportive relationships, and practical opportunities work together to help families participate in community life and move toward lasting stability and greater independence.
